 Lancaster Area Sewer Authority, a 15 MGD regional wastewater treatment plant facility located in Washington Boro, PA, is seeking individual for the position of Plant Operator. Applicant must have thorough knowledge of and experience with the methods, techniques and practices of wastewater treatment. Successful candidate will provide day-to-day monitoring/operation of equipment; perform routine tests and inspections and basic maintenance and repairs; and adhere to safety standards and procedures of the industry. Required abilities include operating light and heavy equipment; diagnosing and resolving problems; working in a team environment; interfacing with a computer controlled operating system; and adhering to schedules. Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent

The City of Lebanon Authority is currently seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent.  This individual is responsible for exercising considerable independent judgment in administering, managing, and supervising programs, activities, and functions related to the construction, extension, inspection, operation, and maintenance of the wastewater collection system.  This individual is also responsible for the proper monitoring and reporting of the operation including reporting to other members of management, the Board of Directors, and to various government agencies including the DEP and EPA.   This individual oversees union and non-union employees.  Requirements for the position include a PA Wastewater license, a valid PA Driver’s license, previous management experience, and previous experience working in a wastewater treatment plant. Montgomery County Community College in conjunction with the Department of Environmental Protection is offering two certificate programs aimed at getting you a job in high demand.

Today, there is a real need for certified operators in local treatment plants in the fields of Drinking Water and Wastewater.  These positions are open now and offer good pay, competitive benefits, and solid employment year round.  To help you learn the needed skills more quickly, the College and the DEP have created 2 – 180 hour certificate programs.  These programs also help to prepare you for the state exam.  Upon successful completion of the certification exam, you are positioned for a good paying job in a high demand field!

Plant Supervisor

Local firm has an immediate opening for a Facility Supervisor for

a municipal wastewater / water system in Manheim, Lancaster Co, PA.

Duties include supervision of wastewater and water staff, ensuring that NPDES parameters are met, coordination of a Septage Receiving system and Biosolids handling program, and overseeing the facilities Maintenance program.  Occasionally will involve hands-on operation and maintenance of the water distribution and sewer collection systems.

PA wastewater and/or water license and valid drivers license is required.

Must be experienced in multiple wastewater processes, solids handling, collection systems, IPP and all facets of supervision and management.  Must have demonstrated process and management experience.  Mechanical, electrical and computer skills (Word and Excel) critical.
