OPERATIONS MANAGER

Immediate Opening: The Lower Salford Township Authority, Montgomery County, PA is accepting applications for the position of Operations Manager. The Operations Manager is responsible for the oversight of three Wastewater Treatment Plants (0.90 MGD, 0.59 MGD, and 7,000 GPD), 11 pump stations, the collection and conveyance systems, eight employees, and all Authority equipment, buildings, and property. The successful candidate should have a thorough understanding of the operations of a full service sewer authority including plant and pump station operations and collection system maintenance and repair. The successful candidate should have excellent project management, supervision, communication and interpersonal relationship skills. The Authority is seeking a dedicated employee to provide leadership and stability to the operations.

Lower Salford Township, centrally located in the Indian Valley and North Penn regions is experiencing growth in the residential, commercial and industrial areas. Several large commercial and transportation projects point to further non-residential growth in the area. The Authority has an aggressive capital improvements plan in place with over $3.5 million in capital projects planned over the next two years.

A Professional Engineer (recognized by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania) with management experience and a Class C1 or higher PADEP Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator’s license (or the ability to obtain a license as a condition of employment) is preferred. A Licensed WWTP Operator (minimum requirement is a current Class C1 PADEP Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator’s license) with a minimum of seven years management experience will be considered. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate proficient computer skills with knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS systems. The position will report directly to the five-member Board.

Salary is dependent upon qualifications (possibly $75,000 plus). A competitive benefits package including a defined benefit pension, fully paid medical/dental/vision for employee and family, long-term disability, short-term disability and life insurance is provided. EOE.

This individual will assist in the performance of all Wastewater Treatment Plant Laboratory analyses and the generation of all necessary reports and paperwork and scheduling. Duties include general lab functions including but not limited to: reviewing data books, receiving samples, performing pipette calibrations, performing thermometer calibrations, washing lab ware, entering data in spreadsheets, checking spreadsheets, filing and general janitorial. A bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, environmental science, biology, microbiology, physical science or engineering is required.
